The Devil’s Knob Complex has grown by over 800 acres and is now at 66,584 acres.

An update from the Rocky Mountain Type 1 Incident Management Team said Tuesday’s limited fire behavior allowed resources to continue work directly on the fire perimeter. Heavy equipment made advances closing the gap to complete a section of indirect line. Crews and engines worked in one section of the Big Hamlin Fire to extinguish any remaining heat and check for spot fires from burnout operations of several days ago. Aviation supplied important assistance to firefighters both in bucket work and reconnaissance.

The Smith Fire is now at 45,771 acres while the Big Hamlin Fire is up slightly to 19,318 acres. Containment levels remain at 20 percent and 75 percent respectively.
