There has been minimal perimeter fire growth on the Devil’s Knob Complex, which is now at 65,764 acres.

An update from the Rocky Mountain Type 1 Incident Management Team said firefighters have taken advantage of the cool temperatures and elevated humidity by adding fire line depth through firing operations in some areas. Heavy equipment also supported operations through the continued construction of indirect fire lines.

Weather continues to be a significant driver of fire behavior. Firefighters will continue the work of the last several days with careful observation of localized weather and its impact on fire behavior.

The Smith Fire has grown to 45,088 acres with containment remaining at 20 percent. The Big Hamlin Fire is up to 19,181 acres and containment still at 75 percent.
