MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGED WEAPON VIOLATION

A California man was jailed for an alleged weapon violation on Saturday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 6:00 a.m. officers responded to the 3200 block of Northwest Aviation regarding a disturbance with a gun. Officers learned that 24-year old Andrew Hopper was allegedly very intoxicated and ended up pointing a handgun directly at two victims. The report said the handgun was taken from Hopper by one of the victims and was collected by law enforcement. The gun’s serial number was completely missing from the weapon.

Hopper was charged with two counts each of menacing and pointing a firearm at another and for obliteration or change of identification number on a firearm. Bail was set at $75,000.
