PEDESTRIAN INJURED WHEN HIT BY A VEHICLE

A pedestrian was hurt when he was hit by a vehicle on Monday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 12:50 p.m. a woman was backing her vehicle out of a parking spot at a store in the 200 block of South Old Pacific Highway in Myrtle Creek. The driver said she had checked her mirrors and didn’t see the pedestrian when backing up and only noticed him when he started yelling.

The report said there were no witnesses and the pedestrian appeared to have minor injuries. The 90-year old man was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center to be checked out. He was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson.

No citations were issued.
