The Devil’s Knob Complex has grown by over 2,760 acres, and is up to 46,596 acres.

An update from the Florida Red Incident Management Team said the Smith Fire is up to 28,725 acres. Crews continue building containment lines and conducting strategic firing operations along the northwest and north sides of the fire, engaging in direct attack where feasible. In Ash Valley, crews are working to steer the fire north of the community and remain prepared to protect private property as the fire nears management evaluation points required to enact the structure protection plan.

The Big Hamlin Fire is at 16,376 acres. Crews are making steady progress on the east side with strategic firing operations along Forest Service Road 2925 to Jackson Creek. Firefighters also continue to conduct strategic firing operations along the east and northeast perimeter near Fawn Creek and Whiskey Creek.

The Devil’s Knob Complex is now 35 percent contained.
