On Wednesday, the Oregon Health Authority reported state pandemic record highs for the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations, as well as the number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, for the second day in a row.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 1,178, which is 16 more than on Tuesday. There are 358 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 36 more than on Tuesday.

COVID-19 has claimed 23 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 3,221. OHA reported 2,827 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 279,086. The new cases include:

OHA reported that 10,897 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 4,901 were administered on Tuesday. 2,517 were initial doses and 1,701 were second doses. 4,901 were administered on previous days, but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.
