A Roseburg man caused a two-vehicle crash while trying to reach his phone, on Monday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 12:10 p.m. the 20-year old was westbound in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The driver in front of him had to stop for traffic but the first driver didn’t see that because he was digging around on the passenger side floorboard attempting to get his phone. The first vehicle crashed into the back of the second vehicle.

The report said the driver whose vehicle was hit complained of neck pain and was evaluated by medical staff, but was not transported to the hospital. The first driver and his passenger were not injured. The man was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and for careless driving.
