A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Friday night.

A Roseburg Police report said at 7:30 p.m. a 74-year old woman was traveling west over the Washington Street Bridge, approaching the intersection with Madrone. The driver said she could not see due to the sun being in her eyes, and ran a red light as a woman was crossing the street from the north side of West Harvard. The sedan struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The victim was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance.

The motorist was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
