A Roseburg man died in a vehicle versus motorcycle crash on Friday night.

Sergeant Daniel Allen of the Roseburg Police Department said just after 9:30 p.m. RPD and the Roseburg Fire Department responded to the collision at the corner of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard.

Allen said an investigation found that a pickup attempted to turn westbound onto Garden Valley from Stephens against an alleged red light, in front of a motorcycle that was traveling southbound on Stephens. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The motorcyclist, 35-year old Ryan Gould, was reportedly unresponsive following the collision. CPR efforts were made by a citizen and RFD staff. Gould was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Allen said the investigation is ongoing but at this time there are no indications that impairment was a factor in the incident.
