4 MORE DEATHS, 335 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 4 NEW PRESUMPTIVE

4 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 335 more people have received new positive test results, and 4 more are presumptive, as of Friday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered information reported on Thursday and Friday combined.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the new deaths include:

*A 50-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 16th and passed away on Thursday. He was not vaccinated.

*A 66-year old man who was made a presumptive on August 16th and passed away on Wednesday. He was not vaccinated.

*An 81-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 10th and passed away on Thursday. He was not vaccinated.

*A 43-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 8th and passed away on Thursday. He was fully vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 8,218. Of those, 7,939 are people that have received positive test results and 279 are presumptive. 89 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 72 locally and 15 outside the area, including two patients that have been transferred out of state for care not available here. 14 ventilators are in use, 17 BiPap machines are in use, and 13 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit. 81 of the 89 hospitalized are not vaccinated.
