JACK FIRE, ROUGH PATCH COMPLEX, EACH INCREASE BY AROUND 2,000 ACRES

August 20, 2021 10:00 a.m.

The Jack Fire and the Rough Patch Complex have each increased by around 2,000 acres.

An update from Great Basin Incident Management Team 2 said the south and southwest flanks of the Jack Fire are seeing active fire behavior. The Buckhead and Near Minky Fires are having similar behavior on their south and southeast flanks. On the east and south flanks of the Chaos and Little Bend Fires, heavy equipment is working to construct and reinforce alternate and contingency lines.

Gusty winds over slopes and ridges are likely to increase fire activity.

The Jack Fire, 20 miles east of Glide, is at 25,753 acres, remaining 15 percent contained. The Rough Patch Complex, 10 miles north of the Jack Fire, is at 19,369 acres and is still 3 percent contained.
