CONTAINMENT LINES HOLDING ON JACK FIRE, SOME ACTIVE FIRE IN COMPLEX

August 19, 2021 9:50 a.m.

Containment lines are holding on the west and north flanks of the Jack Fire, with some active fire continuing on the Rough Patch Complex.

An update from Great Basin Incident Management Team 2 said fire crews are patrolling those flanks and taking action to hold the lines as necessary. The southwest and south flanks of the fire are seeing active fire behavior. Some of the other fires are seeing active behavior as well, but progress is being made.

Gusty winds are likely to increase fire activity over slopes and ridges.

The Jack Fire is still 51 percent contained, at just over 23,700 acres. The Rough Patch Complex is still only 3 percent contained, and burning in nearly 17,560 acres. That’s an increase of nearly 3,000 acres.
