A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged assault on Saturday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 4:45 p.m. a suspect saw a man with a woman he didn’t think was supposed to be with her, due to a previous assault. This occurred in the 800 block of West Princeton. The report said the suspect told the other man to get lost, and the second man approached him. Both began chipping at each other and the second man swung at the suspect, striking him in the neck. The report said the suspect retrieved a small kitchen knife and stabbed the other man, causing two substantial puncture wounds. The knife went all the way up through the victim’s forearm, requiring nine staples.

36-year old Tyson Grinde was charged with second-degree assault and for unlawful use of a weapon. Bail was set at $300,000. The second man was cited and released for a restraining order violation, due to his injury.
