DEVIL’S KNOB COMPLEX 15 PERCENT CONTAINED, AT 8,238 ACRES

August 16, 2021 10:40 a.m.

The Devil’s Knob Complex remains 15 percent contained, but has grown slightly to 8,238 acres, with most fires burning on the Tiller Ranger District.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 8 said the Great Basin Team 2 will assume command of the complex Wednesday morning. Preparations for the transfer are underway.

The update said mop up continues on the western flank of the Big Hamlin Fire, which is the largest fire in the complex at nearly 5,360 acres. Old fire lines from the 2013 Whiskey Fire are being reopened and prepared to use as indirect containment line on the eastern flank of the fire, with 9 miles completed so far.
