3 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 165 more people have received new positive test results, and there are 2 more presumptive, as of Monday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 102nd death was a 27-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 6th. The 103rd death was a 54-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 7th. The 104th death was a 69-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 19th. All 3 passed away last Saturday. The 27-year old was by far the youngest death of a county resident from COVID-19.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Recovery Update said the total number of cases is now at 6,209. Of those, 5,943 are people that have received positive test results and 266 are presumptive. 56 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 50 locally and 6 outside the area, including one that was transferred out of state. Of the COVID positive patients hospitalized locally, 13 ventilators are in use and 13 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

The update said that due to the extraordinary surge in local cases, state reporting system delays, changes to investigative protocols and local teams trying to keep up with their caseloads, reporting the number of patients in isolation and quarantine is being suspended for now.

The weekend recap said on Saturday 137 more people had received new positive test results and there were 4 more presumptive. On Sunday, 99 more people had received new positive test results and 1 more was presumptive.
