SKYLINE RIDGE COMPLEX UPDATE 8.11.21

8/11/2021 11:20 a.m.

Firefighters are now engaged on two fronts of the Poole Creek fire burning in the Skyline Ridge Complex, 5 miles east of Canyonville.

The most recent fire update says crews are actively suppressing fire growth on the southeast flank of the fire, as well as anywhere hot spots are located.

Burn out operations are being conducted, as conditions allow.

Overall containment on the Skyline Complex stands at 23%.

The Poole Creek Fire remains the largest fire in the complex, burning on over 3,000 of the complex’s 3,087-acre footprint.

Fire officials say unstable weather conditions could bring more active fire behavior through the rest of this week.

Incident Commander, Joe Hessel, says “There’s a lot of hard work still to be done but we’re staying in the fight and making progress.”

Fire officials say the Skyline Ridge Complex is currently expected to reach full containment by August 24th.
