The Douglas County Fair is opening Wednesday for a four-day run.

“Fair Fun in 2021” is the theme. After not having a fair in 2020, staff and vendors say they are excited to be back.

The main gate opens each day at 7:00 a.m. for 4-H and FFA activities. The carnival gate and buildings open at 10:00 a.m. Carnival rides start at 11:00 am. except on Wednesday when they begin at 12:00 p.m.

Country artist Ned LeDoux will play on the Cascade Community Credit Union Garden Park Stage at 7:30 p.m. Local artists will play each day before and after the main stage show, on the News Review Garden Park Stage.

Those attending can see special activities throughout the day, check out the commercial booths, and the many food vendors along with all the typical things found every year at the fair.

Wednesday seniors over age 65 get free admission, courtesy of Umpqua Dairy. Admission is free for kids age 12 and under all day every day, thanks to the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. Teens get $2 off admission each day if they bring a canned food item.

Parking at the fairgrounds is $10 but bus transportation is free. Buses are available from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Roseburg High School and the First Student Bus lot in Green.

The fair is open each night until 11:00 p.m.
