COVID-19 has claimed 9 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,872, as of Tuesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,575 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 223,364. The new cases include:

*253 in Jackson County

*164 in Marion County

*160 in Washington County

*127 in Lane County

*96 each in Clackamas and Umatilla counties

*83 in Douglas County

*43 in Linn County

*42 in Deschutes County

*41 in Josephine County

*39 in Polk County

*35 in Coos County

*32 in Curry County

*27 in Klamath County

*26 in Yamhill County

*25 in Malheur County

*21 in Baker County

*19 in Clatsop County

*16 in Columbia County

*11 each in Lincoln, Union and Wasco counties

*9 in Tillamook County

*6 each in Hood River and Wallowa counties

*5 in Morrow County

*4 each in Jefferson and Wheeler counties

*2 each in Grant, and Harney counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 43 to 100. 4 lived in Douglas County. 2 lived in Jackson County. 1 each lived in Josephine, Washington and Yamhill counties.

OHA said the total number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 379, which is 39 more than on Monday. There are 119 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 17 more than on Monday.

OHA reported that 5,066 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,659 doses were administered on Monday. 2,407 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Monday.
