The Dodge Creek Fire was stopped at about 3 acres.

Kyle Reed of the Douglas Forest Protective Association said shortly after 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, Douglas County 911 received a report of a fire located five miles northwest of Sutherlin, near Dodge Creek and Highway 138 West. Reed said crews from DFPA, Sutherlin Fire Department and Oakland Rural Fire Department responded to the fire and said a 1-acre fire was spreading up the hillside.

Additional aviation and ground resources were requested to respond to the incident. By 12:00 p.m. crews had a wet line around the fire, halting the forward spread. Reed said a bulldozer and hand crews were used to construct containment lines around the incident.

The cause of the Dodge Creek Fire is under investigation and does not appear to be lightning related.
