One person died in a fatal accident on Interstate Five in Roseburg early Sunday.

A report from the Oregon State Police said at approximately 1:10 a.m. troopers and emergency personnel responded to the vehicle collision near the Garden Valley Boulevard interchange.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male was crossing the northbound lanes of the freeway, from the west to the east. He was struck by two vehicles.

The report said the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. OSP said the name will be released when it is appropriate.

OSP was assisted by other agencies at the accident scene.
