EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING STARTS THURSDAY MORNING

July 28, 2021 4:30 a.m.  

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 11:00 a.m. Thursday through 11:00 p.m. Friday for central Douglas County and much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said dangerously hot conditions with afternoon temperatures of up to 106 degrees are possible. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The Warning includes most of the west side valleys including the Umpqua, Camas, Rogue, Applegate and Illinois. It applies to Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland.

Forecasters said extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
