SHERIFF’S OFFICE JAILS MAN FOLLOWING ALLEGED DISTURBANCE

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man following an alleged disturbance on Wednesday night.

A DCSO report said at about 7:30 p.m. deputies responded to a disturbance near the intersection of Whistlers Park Road and Highway 138E. The report said that 36-year old Jacob Blessing and a victim were driving back into town when Blessing allegedly punched the victim in the face several times. The suspect also allegedly put the victim in a head lock, leaving her unable to breath for about ten seconds.

The report said the victim had injuries consistent with her statement. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Blessing was charged with fourth-degree assault, strangulation, and menacing. Bail was set at $18,570.
