Myrtle Creek Police jailed a man for a first-degree count of encouraging child sex abuse, on Tuesday.

An MCPD report said a cyber tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to an investigation into possible child pornography. The report said it was learned that 42-year old Tory Jones had allegedly sent at least one video containing child pornography to an unknown subject overseas. A search warrant was granted and an MCPD officer contacted Jones at his residence in the 300 block of North Main.

The report said that after locating evidence and interviewing Jones, he was arrested. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible. A parole violation charge was added. Bail was set at $100,000.
