In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Four Freshman will play at Music on the Half Shell on Tuesday night.
The group first appeared at the Nichols Band Shell in 2002. Known as one of the most influential vocal groups of all time, their tight-knit sound inspired Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, the Mamas and the Papas, Franki Valli and the Manhattan Transfer. The Four Freshman began in 1948, eventually recording 23 albums for Capitol Records. While members have changed over the years, the group has toured continuously since it got started.
Music on the Half Shell begins at 7:00 p.m. Those attending can bring their dinner, along with wine and beer. Several food trucks will be on site with a variety of food on sale as well.
