A Roseburg man was jailed for an alleged strangulation incident on Thursday night.

A Roseburg Police report said 28-year old Perry Murphy had allegedly strangled the victim with his hands and menaced her with a machete. The report said Murphy was found hours later in the 1400 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue and was taken into custody.

Murphy was held on $56,250 bail.
