COWBOY POETRY AND WESTERN MUSIC AT RIVERBEND LIVE!

July 16, 2021 3:40 a.m.

Cowboy poetry and western music are coming to Riverbend Live! in Winston on Friday night.

Performers Dave Stamey and Chris Issacs will share their craft. Stamey has twice been voted Entertainer of the Year, three times Male Performer of the Year, and twice Songwriter of the year by the Western Music Association. He also received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists. Isaacs is one of the most popular entertainers in the Cowboy genre today. He is known as not just a cowboy poet, but as a humorist cut from the same cloth as Will Rodgers.

Cowboy poetry and western music has always been part of the popular series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Those attending should bring a blanket or chair. Food vendors will be on site, or meals can be brought from home as well. Wine and beer are allowed. Admission is free, thanks to dozens of sponsors who back the summer series.

Riverbend Live! will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Riverbend Park. Go to www.riverbendlive.org for more information about Riverbend Live!
