MAN JAILED FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT

A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged assault on Wednesday.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 11:00 a.m. an investigation revealed that two parties were injured but 49-year old Wesley Ayers was the primary aggressor in the incident, though the other party acted outside of self-defense in injuring the suspect.

Ayers was charged with fourth-degree felony assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $52,500. The other party was cited for fourth-degree misdemeanor assault and second–degree disorderly conduct, and was released.

The incident took place in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens.
