RPS SEEKING MEMBERS FOR BOND ADVISORY GROUP

July 14, 2021 3:40 a.m.

Roseburg Public Schools is seeking a wide cross-section of community members to serve on the district’s Capital Improvement Bond Advisory Group.

Superintendent Jared Cordon said the purpose of the group will be to assist the district in developing priorities and parameters for the May 2022 bond campaign.

Cordon said the group will be expected to meet six times from August through November to learn more about the district’s safety, renovation and educational needs; prioritize capital improvement projects; and submit recommendations to the RPS Board of Directors. Cordon said the group’s recommendations will be shared with the community at large to seek additional input. The school board will consider all input received and make the final determinations on the scope and details of the bond measure.

Meetings will be held in the early evening in schools around the district. Applications will be accepted through August 6th. To get an application, call 440-4014.
