MAN JAILED IN RECKLESS BURNING INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed in an alleged reckless burning incident on Tuesday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 10:40 p.m. the 36-year old was called in for theft of beer and candy from a business in the 2800 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. A caller reported that the suspect was behind the Community Cancer Center with a fire burning.

The man was contacted and said he was trying to burn all the vegetation on the property. He was cited for third-degree theft and for reckless burning. Bail was set at $6,250.
