COMMISSIONERS SEND LETTER TO GOVERNOR

June 11, 2021 3:20 a.m.

Douglas County Commissioners have sent another letter to Oregon Governor Kate Brown.

A release from the Board of Commissioners said they ask her to “put our businesses first, and to get Oregonians back to work, sooner rather than later”. The release said the letter expressed concern for the current and future economic plight of local businesses with regards to the lack of available, willing and motivated individuals to enter or reenter the workforce. The letter, authored by Commissioner Chris Boice, said “There should be no incentives to keep people from working while there are jobs to be had”.
