June 4, 2021 3:40 a.m.

Staff with the Oregon State University Forestry & Natural Resources Extension has worked with local partners to give Oregonians tools and knowledge needed to prepare through the “Fire Aware, Fire Prepared” webinar series.

An OSU Extension Service release said topics covered have included reducing wildfire risk around homes and throughout the landscape, preparing for evacuations, and how response to wildfire is organized.

A local session will be offered on Wednesday June 9th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A panel of local emergency responders from the Douglas Forest Protective Association, local fire districts, and the Office of Emergency Management will talk about their organization’s roles in responding to wildfires and answer questions about getting ready for fire season.
