Roseburg Police have identified the two men, one deceased and one hospitalized, involved in a shooting incident on Thursday night.

Sergeant Daniel Allen of RPD said 59-year old Gregory Bennett is the man who passed away, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Bennett and 37-year old Terrence Beason were both life-flighted to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center to be treated for their injuries after both were shot at the Rose Villa Apartments in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens.

Officers from RPD and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area at about 7:00 p.m. after multiple reports came in that shots had been fired at that location.

Allen said the investigation is continuing.
