One person is deceased, one is hospitalized, and a shooting investigation is underway by the Roseburg Police.

Sergeant Daniel Allen said Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. officers from RPD and deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, along with emergency personnel from the Roseburg Fire Department and ambulance services, responded to the Rose Villa Apartments in the 2500 block of Northeast Stephens after receiving multiple calls that shots had been fired at that location.

Allen said based on the initial investigation and available information, two Roseburg men were identified as being involved in the shooting. Both were life-flighted to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland to be treated for their injuries. Allen said one man succumbed to his injuries and the condition of the other man is not available.

Allen said names of those involved are not being released as the investigation continues. It is believed they were known to each other. Allen said there is no continued threat of harm to the public.

Allen said more information will be released when it becomes available.
