The Myrtle Creek-Tri City Chamber of Commerce will have its 63rd annual Citizen of the Year Awards ceremony on Saturday at Millsite Park.
Former state representative and county commissioner Susan Morgan will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Chamber Secretary/Treasurer Ted Romas said reservations are not needed and the event is open to the public. Romas said food trucks will be on site offering meals for purchase. Desserts and beverages will be on sale as well. The social hour will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 5:00 p.m.
Romas said that Chuck Ireland, Steve Johnson, Bill Leming, Shirley Petterson and Lloyd Shields will be inducted into the Chamber Legacy Circle. That will be followed by the 2021 awards for Business of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Man and Woman of the Year, Special Recognition and the President’s Award. Seating is available for up to 150 guests.
Romas said those attending should bring a lawn chair. Wearing of masks and social distancing will depend on mandates that are in place on the day of the event. For more information, call Romas at 860-2037.
