1 more person has died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, and 11 more people have received new positive test results, as of Tuesday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 78th COVID-19 related death was a 54-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 17th and passed away last Thursday. Dannenhoffer said this is the county’s youngest COVID-19 related death to date.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 3,579. Of those, 3,409 are people that have received positive test results and 170 are presumptive. 17 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 11 locally and 6 outside the area. 194 people are in isolation. 633 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 827 people that are either in isolation or quarantine. That is a decrease of 27 people since Sunday.
