Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association contained a fire seven miles southwest of Winston on Monday night.

Information from DFPA said the Porter Creek Fire was about 1/10th of an acre when it was spotted late Monday afternoon. The fire was slowly creeping along ground fuels when crews arrived. It was in mop up stage by around 7:00 p.m.

The cause of the Porter Creek Fire is under investigation.
