16 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS FOR COVID-19 IN COUNTY

16 more people have received new positive test results for COVID-19 in Douglas County, as of Monday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 3,446. Of those, 3,281 are people that have received positive test results and 165 are presumptive. There have been 73 deaths. 17 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 9 locally and 8 outside the area. 179 people are in isolation. 422 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 601 people that are either in isolation or quarantine. That is an increase of 22 people since Sunday.

The update said that locally there is ‘…a very concerning surge in new COVID-19 cases”. In the past two weeks, ending last Thursday, DPHN said there were 199 new COVID-19 cases in the county. The update said of those cases, zero had been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine.
