MAN JAILED FOR FELONY COUNTS OF STRANGULATION AND ASSAULT

A Roseburg man was jailed for felony counts of strangulation and 4th degree assault, on Saturday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 11:000 a.m. deputies responded to reported disturbance in the 1000 block of Newton Creek Road. The report said this disturbance was verbal only but the victim disclosed that another disturbance had taken place the previous Wednesday. The victim said she had been choked and couldn’t breath and had injuries consistent with her story. She also said that she had been kicked and pushed to the ground. The report said a juvenile child had been present during the altercation.

The suspect, 25-year old Rylan Gardner denied anything physical and said the victim’s injuries were from the baby. He was taken into custody. Bail was set at $7,500.
