Just over 13 percent of ballots have been returned in the Douglas County 2021 Special Districts Election, as of late Wednesday.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said nearly 11,000 ballots have been received. Loomis said that is slightly ahead of the participation rate for the same point in the last Special Districts Election.

Ballots are due back by Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.
