Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team have arrested two people, accused of dealing drugs near a school

Lieutenant Rick McArthur of DINT said Tuesday evening deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2300 block of Cannon Avenue in Green. McArthur said the home is “alarmingly close” to the entrance of Sunnyslope Elementary School.

McArthur said DINT and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have received multiple complaints in recent months about obvious drug activity taking place at the residence. Due to those complaints, and the proximity to the school, DINT conducted a targeted investigation and developed information indicating that both methamphetamine and heroin trafficking was taking place at the home.

McArthur said a search of house revealed more than a quarter pound of methamphetamine, approximately 18 grams of black tar heroin, a small amount of suspected fentanyl, a large amount of cash, a firearm and a substantial amount of evidence regarding distribution.

43-year old Timothy Bond was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $600,000.

42-year old Leah Wilkins was charged with unlawful possession of heroin and unlawful delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school. Bail was set at $350,000.

McArthur said the investigation is continuing and more charges are likely to follow.
