A suspect eluded capture after running from a deputy on Monday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 4:20 p.m. a deputy stopped a dirt bike for numerous violations in the 100 block of Forest Drive in Azalea. The driver was an adult male while the passenger was an adult female.
The report said the driver identified himself, said he was 26-years old and had recently moved to Oregon from Florida. As the deputy started to walk back to his vehicle to check their license information, the driver took off on foot. The deputy chased him but the man evaded capture. The passenger said she had just met the man and only knew his first name.
Follow up in the case is continuing according to DCSO.
