OVER 9,500 BALLOTS RETURNED IN SPECIAL DISTRICTS ELECTION

May 12, 2021 4:00 a.m.

Over 9,500 ballots have been returned in the Douglas County 2021 Special Districts Election, as of late Tuesday.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that is nearly 11.5 percent of those registered to vote. Loomis said it is slightly ahead of the rate for the same point in the 2019 Special Districts Election.

Loomis said election boards have begun to separate the voted ballots from their envelopes and secrecy sleeves. That’s in preparation for the voted ballots to be electronically scanned and tallied.

Ballots are due back by next Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.
