MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND STRANGULATION

A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for fourth-degree assault and strangulation, by Oregon State Police on Tuesday.

Information from OSP said Tuesday morning just before 8:00 a.m. troopers were dispatched to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate Five northbound about three miles south of Cottage Grove. The report said one vehicle had left the scene without exchanging any information. Troopers located the vehicle a short time later.

An investigation revealed the driver was the victim of an assault, with the passenger the suspect. The 35-year old man was taken into custody. Troopers determined that the assault had taken place in Douglas County. Bail was set at $12,500.
