One person died in a mobile home fire in Winchester on Sunday.

Lieutenant Dwayne Gettys of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said crews were dispatched to the fire just before 7:00 a.m. in the 5700 block of Northeast Stephens. Gettys said the first arriving engine found heavy fire conditions throughout the structure. The fire was knocked down and the scene was under control within ten minutes.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released information on the identity of the person who is deceased, pending next of kin notification.

Fire District No. 2 was assisted by several agencies at the fire scene.
