In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Umpqua Actors Community Theatre is bringing back live theatre this summer with Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” as part of its Youth Summer Theatre program. Executive Director Melody Schwegel said to help add to the atmosphere and tap into the wild side, the production will be performed at the outdoor dome at Wildlife Safari in Winston.
Live auditions for those under age 18 who want to sing and dance, will be held May 21st and 22nd with callbacks on May 23rd. Audition details are posted at: www.uact-theatre.com. Ticket information will be available in July.
Performances of “The Lion King Jr.” will be August 12th-15th and August 19th-22nd.
