A Roseburg man was jailed for a reported assault incident on Sunday.

Information from Roseburg Police said officers responded to the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens just before 5:00 p.m. The report said a victim was hit by 31-year old Sterling Braun numerous times over the head with a toilet brush and clay plates, causing multiple lacerations on the crown of the head. The suspect allegedly punched and slapped the victim in the face multiple times as well as spat in his face. When the victim tried to leave the residence, Braun reportedly choked him twice, causing him to lose consciousness.

Braun was taken into custody for second-degree assault, two counts of strangulation, and for harassment. Bail was set at $265,000.
