Over 7,000 ballots have been returned in the 2021 Special Districts Election, as of late Friday.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that is nearly 8.5 percent of those registered to vote and is slightly ahead of the participation rate for the 2019 Special Districts Election. Loomis said staff has begun the signature verification process on each ballot.

Ballots are due back by Tuesday May 18th at 8:00 p.m.
