A mobile home is considered a total loss after a fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon.

Battalion Chief Scott Richardson of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said the fire was reported just after 3:20 p.m. on Clarice Lane in the Winchester area.

Richardson said crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a single wide mobile home. The homeowner had exited the building and told firefighters she woke up to see fire coming from the kitchen area. Richardson said crews made an aggressive attack and kept the fire from spreading to other nearby mobile homes.
