A 60-year old man died in a single vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Interstate Five near milepost 160, about two-miles south of the Drain/Elkton exit.

A report from Oregon State Police said troopers responded to the wreck at about 3:30 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup, operated by Matthew Wignall, address unknown, left the northbound lanes of the roadway, traveled through the brush, and went down an embankment.

The report said Wignall sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. A dog in the vehicle was taken to Bailey’s Veterinary Clinic for treatment.
