COVID-19 Claims 3 More Lives, State Death Toll at 2,498 5pm May 1 KB

COVID-19 has claimed 3 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,498, as of Saturday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 794 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 185,597. The new cases include:

*115 in Multnomah County

*106 in Washington County

*96 in Clackamas County

*88 in Deschutes County

*66 in Lane County

*60 in Marion County

*55 in Klamath County

*38 in Linn County

*22 in Yamhill County

*15 in Columbia County

*10 in Benton County

*9 each in Douglas, Josephine and Umatilla counties

*8 in Lincoln County

*7 in Clatsop County

*6 in Crook County

*5 each in Jefferson, Malheur and Polk counties

*4 each in Coos and Wasco counties

*2 each in Grant, Harney, Hood River, and Lake counties

*1 in Tillamook County

The new deaths ranged in age from 43 to 81. 1 each lived in Jackson, Linn and Malheur counties

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 331, which is 3 fewer than on Friday. There are 71 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 fewer than on Friday.

OHA reported that 40,318 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 28,021 doses were administered on Friday. 12,297 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Friday.
